Paris with kids is unfairly maligned. The city is dense, the public transit is more pram-friendly than London's, and the parks are everywhere. L'Arbre Enchanté and OTIPI Saint-Placide are the boutique toy and craft shops that absorb a rainy afternoon. Paris TUKTUK runs the family-rated rolling tour that hits the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre exterior, and the Tuileries without the metro changes. Mama Cherry is the kid-welcoming restaurant tucked in the Marais. The Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne is the small amusement park most American families do not know about; the entry-plus-rides combo is roughly half the cost of Disneyland Paris and the day is more relaxed. The Pompidou Centre's escalators are the secret family hit; the Atelier des Enfants programs run drop-in art workshops on weekends. Pro tip every Paris-with-kids parent learns: the Eiffel Tower is best seen, not climbed, with anyone under 8. The Champs de Mars lawn picnic at sunset wins every photo and skips the security line and the 90-minute elevator wait. Pack a baguette, a wedge of brie, and grapes from the nearest Carrefour Express. Half the magic of Paris with kids is the picnic, not the monument.
