Cabo San Lucas is easier with kids than many beach towns, but only if you understand the marina side versus the Pacific side before day one.

The marina side is the family side. The water is calmer, the boat departures are simple, and the stroller logistics are far better than visitors expect. The Pacific side is beautiful and, for younger kids, mostly for looking. I think parents get themselves into trouble in Cabo when they confuse a gorgeous beach with a good swim beach.

With anyone under 12, I would treat most Pacific-facing sand as walk-the-beach-only and build the actual water play around calmer zones. The iconic outing is still El Arco at Land's End, but here is my mild contrarian take: the cheap glass-bottom water taxi is underrated, the longer charter is often overrated for families with kids under 9.

In and out in under 90 minutes usually beats stretching a boat day past the point where sunscreen, hunger, and bathroom timing all go bad at once. The recurring note in parent reviews is that kids love seeing the rock formations and fish, then hit a hard wall right after. Cabo rewards families who quit while the day is still going well.
