Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
Ages: About 2 through 14 is the heart of it, and teens still find plenty here because the grounds are beautiful and the exhibit quality is high. Toddlers do extremely well, partly because of the children's zoo area and the ride attractions and partly because the animals are close enough to see without any explanation. Little kids from 4 to 8 get the most total value, since they can walk a decent share of the day, follow keeper talks, and still find the carousel exciting. Big kids and tweens gravitate to the predators, the manatee habitat and the nocturnal building. Infants are welcome and easy to bring with a stroller, but you are paying full freight for a day they will not remember, so consider waiting unless an older sibling is driving the trip.
