National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force

The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force is a history museum first, with a restored B-17 Flying Fortress as its biggest visual anchor. Exhibits use aircraft, uniforms, photographs, veterans' oral histories and other artifacts to explain the Eighth Air Force's role in World War II. Families should expect a serious story about combat, service and loss rather than a general children's aviation museum.
