San Antonio Museum of Art

San Antonio Museum of Art is a large indoor museum where families can move across many places and time periods in one visit. Its collections include ancient Mediterranean art, Asian art, Latin American art and more. The museum's family resources make the galleries easier to use with children. Bexar County residents receive free general admission Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and on the second Sunday from 10:00 AM to noon, with proof of residence.

Public parking is across Jones Avenue and uses the Metropolis system. For food, Tre Trattoria operates on the museum campus, and the Pearl is about a 10-minute walk away. The museum does not publish a children's menu, so check the restaurant before depending on it for a picky eater.
