For families staying in downtown Seattle or Capitol Hill, Yesler Playground is one of the more walkable playground options from the central city. Most Seattle playgrounds require a drive; this one is accessible by foot from First Hill hospitals and medical centers, the International District, and Capitol Hill — making it particularly useful for families whose kids need a playground break during a longer city stay.

The playground equipment is appropriate for toddlers through early grade school. It's a neighborhood park rather than a destination park — you come here because it's convenient and accessible, not because it has a signature attraction like the Salmon Slide or Green Lake's lake views.
