SSC Arboretum

The SSC Arboretum at South Seattle College is one of those Seattle nature spots that rewards the people who find it with a calm, uncrowded experience that's genuinely different from the city's busier parks.

Located on the Delridge campus of South Seattle College, the arboretum is a labeled educational tree collection developed for the college's horticulture program. That educational focus means each specimen has identification labels with species information — making it a better learning experience for plant-curious families than an unmarked public garden.

For families, it functions best as a quiet nature walk with younger kids who need open space without crowds, or for older kids who enjoy identification activities. The campus grounds have open lawns where toddlers can run freely.
