Meridian Playground

The equipment has been updated and covers the full age range from toddler through early teen. The park has enough open green space that ball games, frisbee, and general running around work alongside the structured play equipment. The neighborhood setting on Meridian Ave N, surrounded by Wallingford's mix of family homes and local businesses, gives the park a pleasant ambient quality.

Wallingford is one of those Seattle neighborhoods that just works for families, it's walkable, has excellent neighborhood restaurants, is close to Green Lake, and has a community feel without being overly precious about it. Meridian Playground is the neighborhood's anchor park.

The proximity to Green Lake (about 0.5-0.8 miles north) makes Meridian Playground the natural starting point for a broader Green Lake area outing. Families frequently do the playground first (toddler burns energy), then walk north to the lake loop for a family bike or scooter ride, then grab lunch in the Wallingford commercial district.

Parking is street parking on Meridian Ave N and surrounding blocks. Weekday mornings are easy. Weekend afternoons in good weather tighten up as Wallingford families claim their spots.
