Museum of Illusions Mall of America

Museum of Illusions Mall of America is a compact, indoor attraction built around visual puzzles, unusual rooms, holograms, and hands-on installations. Children do not just read labels. They step into scenes, change their viewing angle, pose for photos, and test why an image or room looks different from reality.

The museum connects its exhibits with science, technology, art, history, and mathematics through K-12 field-trip programming.

The experience usually takes 45 to 90 minutes, according to the museum's official FAQ. That makes it easier to add to a Mall of America day without using the whole afternoon. It is a good fit for school-age children, tweens, and teens who enjoy riddles, photography, and explaining how a trick works.

Younger children can still enjoy the shapes and funny photos, and children ages 4 and younger enter free.

This is a fully indoor, weather-proof outing. The museum is wheelchair and scooter accessible, but it does not provide mobility aids. A few rooms use slanted floors and are less accessible.

Exhibits may also include projections, LED lights, changing light intensity, and effects that challenge balance. Families can bypass those areas. Prepare sensitive children before entering and take a break if anyone feels dizzy.

Advance booking matters. Tickets are sold at the entrance only when the museum is below capacity, and the venue does not accept cash. Current public admission prices were not visible on the accessible official booking page, so check the live calendar for the exact family total. Tickets from unauthorized sellers or scalpers are not accepted.

For the simplest arrival, use the free North Entrance parking lot at 2100 Lindau Lane. Enter the mall and take the immediate escalator or elevator to Level 2 North. The museum is between H&M and Zara at the end of the hallway. Food and drinks are not allowed inside, but Mall of America has dozens of dining choices for before or after the visit.
