Harley-Davidson Museum

The Harley-Davidson Museum is a strong choice for children who notice how machines look, sound and change over time. The museum traces more than 120 years of Harley-Davidson history across two floors filled with motorcycles, artifacts and stories. The exhibit pages also identify hands-on puzzles, games and design challenges for visitors of all ages.

This gives younger guests something to do between galleries where the main activity is looking closely and reading.

Ages 7 and older are the best fit. Big kids and teens can follow the engineering, racing, design and cultural stories, while younger vehicle fans may focus on colors, shapes and unusually large motorcycles. Toddlers can visit in a stroller, but parents should expect many display-based sections.

The official campus page specifically says families with children in strollers are welcome. Museum floors, dining areas and restrooms are accessible, and complimentary wheelchairs are available first come, first served.

The museum is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with possible changes on selected holidays. General admission is not tied to a date or time. The dedicated ticket page currently lists online admission at $24 for adults, $8 for children ages 5 to 17 and free for children 4 and younger.

It also says online admission is $2 less per ticket than lobby admission. The online store may occasionally be unavailable, so confirm the live price and purchasing method before leaving home.

Arrival is easier than at many city museums. The campus has free H and D parking lots west of 6th Street. The museum recommends two or more hours for the exhibits and at least half a day if a family also wants the shop, Factory Outlet and MOTOR Restaurant.

MOTOR opens at 11:00 AM and has a published children's menu. This is mainly an indoor attraction, so weather matters less once you are inside, though special events can bring more activity to the outdoor campus. Check the event calendar before promising a quiet museum morning.
