About
The Inclusive Playground in Lenexa, Kansas is a standout among KC-area playgrounds. Specifically designed so kids of all abilities can play together. But it's not just accessible-as-a-checkbox — it's genuinely a great playground any kid would enjoy.
The zip line is the highlight. Seated zip line from one end to the other. Main climbing structure has ramps (not just stairs), tunnels, slides, and monkey bars. Musical instruments and tactile panels along the ground level.
Separate toddler section with smaller, softer equipment. Spinning equipment (merry-go-round style) fits wheelchairs.
Part of a larger park with walking trails and green space. Poured rubber surface, wheelchair-friendly. Gets hot in direct sun — summer visits best early morning or late afternoon.
Completely free, open 5:30am-10pm. Parking lot next to the playground. This playground won't entertain kids 10+, but for the 2-9 range, it's one of the best in the KC metro.

Why Kids Love It
Built with accessibility as the core principle, but the design is so good every kid loves it. Wheelchair-accessible ramps connect all levels. Musical instruments, sensory panels, and spinning equipment give different ways to play. The zip line is the biggest draw — there's always a line of kids waiting to ride it.
