Adventure Island

Adventure Island is a ticketed outdoor water park at 10001 North McKinley Drive in Tampa, Florida, near Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. This is not the free-entry seaside theme park in Southend-on-Sea described by the previous copy. Beaches and Water is the correct KidPaths category because the park's primary family activities are water slides, pools, a lazy river, and kid-friendly aquatic play areas.

The official site organizes attractions into water slides, pools and lazy river, and play areas for children. Each attraction can use its own height, participation, and swimwear restrictions. Height requirements are posted at each ride, and a height-check station is available at the front of the park.

Check the current attraction and maintenance pages before building the day around a particular slide or play area.

Proper swim attire is required, and thong bathing suits are prohibited. Attire with buckles, rivets, or sharp objects cannot be worn on slides, while cotton shirts and shorts cannot be worn on body slides. Because the official FAQ uses conflicting scope for denim, cutoff jeans, cargo shorts, and frayed shorts, leave those items at home.

Water shoes are allowed in pools, pathways, and tube-based attractions but not on body slides. Only United States Coast Guard approved life vests may be brought into the park. Unsecured cameras are restricted on certain slides, and secured cameras are permitted only on specifically listed attractions.

Outside food, drinks, and coolers are not generally allowed. Guests may bring water or a refillable water bottle. The park describes exceptions for special dietary needs, food allergies, baby food, or formula and directs guests to seek Security approval on arrival.

Outdoor picnic pavilions outside the front gate are available for cooler use. All-day lockers are available for rental at multiple locations. Some cabana products explicitly include an all-day locker; verify the selected cabana's inclusions.

Ticket totals vary by date and product, so KidPaths does not publish a fixed family admission estimate. Children age two and under do not require an admission ticket. General parking currently starts at $35 plus tax, while qualifying annual passes can include parking benefits.

Build the exact family total in the live ticket cart, then add parking, lockers, food, cabanas, Quick Queue, or other optional upgrades only when needed. Ticket and pass products use specific refund and rescheduling terms, so review the selected product before purchase.

Opening and closing times vary by date, and capacity can temporarily suspend admission during high attendance. Check the official hours, attraction closures, and current ticket availability for the exact day. The park accepts major cards, supported mobile payments, and cash-to-card kiosks rather than ordinary cash payment at point of sale. Security screening can add entry time.

Adventure Island may activate a chaperone policy on select dates. When active, guests age 17 and younger must remain with a chaperone age 21 or older, and one chaperone may accompany no more than five minors. The chaperone must enter with the group, remain in the park, carry valid government-issued photo identification showing date of birth, and remain reachable.

Photographs of identification are not accepted. Check the current policy calendar rather than assuming it applies every day.

A strong family plan is to choose the date only after comparing hours, ticket products, closures, weather, and any chaperone requirement. Pack compliant swimwear, water, sun protection, and only approved safety gear. Use the official app for navigation and wait times, and ask Guest Relations about accommodations or unclear attraction requirements.
