About

Butterfly Wonderland is an indoor rainforest-style attraction at Arizona Boardwalk. A typical visit moves through several distinct experiences rather than a single butterfly room. Families can watch a short 3D film about monarch migration, examine live chrysalises in the Emergence Gallery, walk among thousands of free-flying butterflies, and continue into galleries with reptiles, amphibians, bees, large arthropods, and tropical-water animals.

Children who like close observation have plenty to search for, from camouflaged turtles and vine snakes to walking sticks and colorful frogs.

The conservatory is the main event. The official FAQ describes conditions near 80 degrees with roughly 70 percent humidity, so dress lightly and expect glasses or camera lenses to fog briefly. Strollers are allowed in the building but not inside the conservatory.

A designated stroller-parking area is available, making a baby carrier the easiest choice for infants and young toddlers during that portion of the visit.

Butterfly Wonderland works for a wide age range. Preschoolers often respond to the movement and color, while school-age children can connect the 3D film and chrysalis displays to animal life cycles. Older children may spend more time with reptiles, insects, conservation information, and scheduled animal talks.

The attraction's education program serves kindergarten through grade 12. Plan at least 1. 5 hours; about two hours gives children time to pause and watch instead of moving quickly between galleries.

Because the experience is indoors, it is a dependable hot-weather or rainy-day activity. Primary entrances, parking spaces, and restrooms include wheelchair-accessible options. Nursing and diaper-changing facilities were not clearly confirmed on the official pages, so parents who need them should call before arriving.

Current general admission is listed at $33. 95 for adults and $23. 95 for children ages 2 to 12.

Two adults and two children would therefore total about $115. 80 before tax or added fees. The on-site café sells meals, snacks, and drinks, and same-day re-entry allows families to explore other Arizona Boardwalk food and attractions.

Check the live schedule and ticket page before leaving because prices, promotions, feedings, and online sales availability can change.
