Murray City Park Playground

Murray City Park's playground is one of the Salt Lake Valley's better-maintained and most comprehensive public play spaces. Located in Murray, about 15 minutes south of downtown SLC, this park earns its 4.7-star rating from local families who come back time and again.

The playground area is well-designed for different age groups, with separate equipment zones keeping toddlers and bigger kids from constantly colliding. There's enough variety — climbing structures, slides, swings, and more — to keep most kids engaged for 1-2 hours without wanting to leave.

The seasonal splash pad is the real showstopper in summer. Murray's splash pad is one of the better ones in the valley, with interactive water jets and features that kids can control themselves. Bring swimwear and a towel — you'll want to stay. Check the city website for current splash pad season dates and any per-person fees, which are minimal.

Murray City Park also has covered picnic pavilions, which is a practical advantage over parks without shade structures. Restrooms are available on-site, making this particularly family-friendly for visits with young children who can't hold it.
