Krokodýlí Zoo Praha

Krokodýlí Zoo Praha is a compact indoor zoo in Holešovice built around crocodilians and land tortoises. Its collection includes crocodiles, alligators and caimans, along with tortoise species that children may not see at a larger general zoo. Prague City Tourism also lists wildlife photography and expert commentary as parts of the experience.

The narrow focus makes this a good choice for a child who wants reptiles without the walking and time required by a full-size zoo.

Ages 4 to 12 are likely to get the most from the visit. Younger children can watch animals at close range, while school-age visitors can compare jaw shapes, body size, shells and movement. Teens with a serious interest in reptiles may also enjoy the collection.

Children under 2 enter free, but the official site does not publish stroller, changing-table or nursing information. Call ahead if those facilities will decide whether the visit works.

Plan about 45-90 minutes for general viewing. Weekday commentary sessions last about 30 minutes and run at published times that change with the season. Moderated weekend crocodile feedings are listed for 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM.

Arriving for a feeding gives the visit a clear focus, but it also places the family inside the higher weekend admission period. Families who care more about price than a feeding can visit on a weekday or after 3:00 PM on weekends and holidays.

For two adults and two children ages 2 to 15, the basic-rate total is 700 CZK: 190 + 190 + 160 + 160. During the weekend and holiday premium period from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the same family pays 940 CZK: 260 + 260 + 210 + 210. The zoo does not accept cards, so bring cash.

Nearby streets use paid parking zones; tram stops are only a few steps away and Vltavská metro station is about a ten-minute walk according to the operator.

The indoor setting makes this a useful wet-weather activity. Food service, stroller access and family-care facilities are not confirmed on the official pages, so treat it as a focused animal stop rather than an all-day zoo visit.
