KidZooU

KidZooU is the Philadelphia Zoo's dedicated children's zoo area — a section of the zoo specifically designed, scaled, and programmed for visitors ages 1-8. In a large zoo that can feel overwhelming for the youngest visitors, KidZooU provides a focused experience where young children can engage with animals and exhibits built for their height and attention span.

The area includes interactive encounters with small and domestic animals, seasonally rotating baby animal programming, and exhibits where toddlers through early elementary kids are the primary audience. It's the part of the zoo where parents of young children consistently find the most genuine engagement from their kids.

KidZooU is included with Philadelphia Zoo general admission — no additional charge. The zoo is open 9:30AM-5PM, closed Tuesdays. A family of 4 day at Philadelphia Zoo runs approximately $90-120 including admission, parking, and food.

For families with kids under 8, KidZooU is typically the first exhibit to plan around. After the interactive children's zoo experience, the Reptile House (nearby and fully indoor — good for any weather) and Big Cat Falls (always a crowd-pleaser) round out an excellent full zoo day.
