Moab Giants

Moab Giants combines a dinosaur museum with an outdoor trail, play spaces, fossil-dig activities, films, and a virtual prehistoric aquarium. The main outdoor route is a half-mile trail with more than 100 full-size dinosaur replicas. Signs and track displays connect the models to dinosaurs that lived in the Moab region.

Children can then change pace at two partly shaded Dig-It-Out sites, where brushes and shovels are used to uncover replica fossils, or climb, swing, and slide at the dinosaur-themed playground. One memorable feature lets children climb inside a large T. rex mouth.

The strongest age range is about 4 to 12, but the mix works for a wider family group. Toddlers can enjoy the models and playground with close supervision. Older children and teens can spend more time with track science, original footprints, rock art, and the Interactive Tracks Museum.

The all-inclusive VIP pass adds the 3D Theater and 5D Prehistoric Aquarium. The aquarium is virtual, not a tank of live animals. Most scenes are described as low intensity, but the Megalodon section can frighten young children.

Parents may exit before that room.

Plan for two to three hours, which is the venue's own recommendation. The site is both indoors and outdoors, but the trail, dig areas, and playground are major parts of the experience. This makes weather important.

In warm months, arrive at 10:00 AM, walk the trail first, and use indoor attractions or the cafe during the hotter part of the visit. The outdoor route has benches, misters, vending machines, and restrooms. The venue also lists changing tables, ADA and wheelchair access, and oversized parking.

A formal stroller policy is not posted, but the accessibility information supports bringing one for a child who may tire.

Moab Giants is about nine miles north of town at the US-191 and SR-313 junction. It is closed Wednesdays, and last admission is one hour before closing. The official booking operator lists a $90 VIP Family Pass for two adults and two or three children ages 4 to 15.

The onsite cafe has a real children's menu, and outside food may be eaten at outdoor picnic tables. Check live hours, weather, ticket totals, and promotions before the drive.
