Playground

This is a simple public playground on Thurm Blvd in Cape Canaveral. No frills, no admission, no gimmicks — just a playground where kids can climb, slide, and swing.

For families visiting the Space Coast, this is the kind of spot you stop at for 30-60 minutes when kids need to burn off energy between bigger activities. After a morning at Kennedy Space Center and before an afternoon beach session, a playground stop gives little kids exactly what they actually need: running, climbing, and screaming. Not everything on vacation has to be a ticketed attraction.

The playground has standard equipment including slides, swings, and climbing structures. It's appropriate for toddlers through about 8-year-olds. Older kids will find it too basic, but even a reluctant 10-year-old might enjoy the swings for a few minutes.

The biggest consideration is the Florida heat. This is an outdoor, minimally shaded playground, and Cape Canaveral gets HOT — especially from May through September. Metal equipment can be scorching in direct midday sun. Visit in the morning before 10 AM or late afternoon after 4 PM when the intensity drops. Bring sunscreen, hats, and water bottles.

There's no food, restrooms may be limited, and there aren't any special features. This is a neighborhood park, and that's fine. Not everything needs to be a major attraction with a gift shop.

The 4.0 rating is reasonable for what it is. Cape Canaveral's main family attractions are Kennedy Space Center, the beach, and Ron Jon Surf Shop. This playground fills the gap for when kids need unstructured outdoor play time between those highlights.

No parking fees. The surrounding Cape Canaveral neighborhood is quiet and walkable. Combine it with a walk around the neighborhood if you want to stretch your own legs too.
