LaZoom Tours

LaZoom Tours is most useful to families through its Lil Boogers Kids' Comedy Tour, a 60-minute ride created for children and their grown-ups. This is not a hop-on sightseeing bus or a quiet history lecture. A live guide mixes Asheville stories with music, jokes, costumes, theatrical sketches, and surprise characters who appear along the route.

The bus departs from and returns to the LaZoom Room at 76 Biltmore Avenue without making a stop.

The operator recommends Lil Boogers for ages 5 to 12 but allows all ages. Infants are permitted only on this family tour, not on LaZoom's other public tour formats. Children age 3 and younger do not need a ticket when seated on an adult's lap.

An adult must accompany every child, and the required ratio is at least one adult for every four children. Families with teens should review the separate tour descriptions because Hey Asheville begins at age 13, while other LaZoom products have higher age restrictions.

The show is energetic. LaZoom specifically warns about loud sounds, lively music, and performers in costume. That can be great for children who enjoy theater and surprises, but it may be a poor match for a child who startles easily or struggles with noise. The company invites families to call before booking if they are unsure about sensory fit.

Arrival takes more planning than the one-hour ride suggests. LaZoom does not provide guest parking. Its official parking page recommends reaching downtown at least 30 minutes before departure and lists nearby paid lots, garages, and meters.

Reservations are strongly recommended because tours often sell out. Tickets are checked from a roster, so nothing needs to be printed. Seating is first come, first served, and late passengers may have their tickets released.

The buses operate as open-air vehicles in warmer weather and do not have summer air conditioning. Windows close during cold or rainy weather, and the buses are heated in colder months. Tours run rain or shine unless road conditions are unsafe. Dress for the forecast even though the ride offers some protection.

Families may bring snacks and beverages. The LaZoom Room also sells snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. The children's tour has no restroom break, so use the accessible LaZoom Room restroom before boarding.

The room is wheelchair-accessible, but the buses are not: boarding requires several steps with a handrail, and the doors cannot accommodate a wheelchair. Stroller storage, nursing facilities, changing space, and ordinary boarding waits are not documented.
