About

Parc André Citroën in the 15th arrondissement is built on the former Citroën factory site and opened in 1992. It's one of Paris's best modern parks — geometrically designed, with dramatic glasshouses, themed gardens and a large open lawn that runs down to the Seine. The sparkling water fountain is a hidden gem within the park, beloved by locals and largely undiscovered by tourists.

The fountain dispenses naturally carbonated water — the kids' reactions when they realize it's fizzy are genuinely priceless. It's the kind of small discovery that makes family travel memorable. Open around the clock, it's accessible whenever you're in the park.

The broader park has a lot going for it: the white glasshouses at the north end are architecturally striking and house themed botanical gardens. The large central lawn is perfect for kids to run around on. The Ballon de Paris — a tethered helium balloon that ascends 150 meters above the city — is also in the park and offers one of the best aerial views of Paris (paid separately).

The park is a 5-minute walk from Javel or Balard metro stations. It tends to be popular with local families and much less crowded than the central Paris parks.

Kids find it hilarious and delightful, and on a warm day it's a genuine crowd-pleaser.
