TopGolf Charlotte is a three-story golf entertainment complex in University City that has successfully made golf accessible and immediately enjoyable for people who have never held a club. The concept is clever: ball-tracking microchips score every shot against on-screen targets at various distances, so the experience is more video game than traditional driving range.

Families get their own bay — a covered hitting stall with bench seating, a full table, and 6-8 clubs to choose from. The gamification means everyone has fun regardless of skill level. Kids swing, the balls fly, and the screens score them. Adults who haven't played golf since college discover muscles they forgot they had.
