Sloomoo Institute in SoHo is New York City's most celebrated slime destination — a ticketed immersive experience that turns the internet's favorite tactile obsession into a multi-room journey. Spanning two floors of a Broadway loft, the institute is both a hands-on activity space and one of the most photographed family destinations in the city.

The experience unfolds across themed zones, each exploring a different dimension of slime science and play. Visitors can make their own custom slime from scratch, selecting colors, scents, and textures at well-staffed stations. Other areas feature slime waterfalls, slime pools visitors can dip their hands into, and collections of exotic slime varieties — glittery, glow-in-the-dark, fluffy, metallic, and cloud varieties among them.

Staff members roam constantly to answer questions and help younger children at the mixing stations.

Sloomoo is particularly well-suited to children ages 6–14, though teens and even adults frequently visit for the Instagram-worthy visuals. The design aesthetic is maximalist and colorful — think candy-store meets science lab — with every corner designed to photograph beautifully under the excellent lighting. Content creators and birthday groups have made Sloomoo a perennial favorite for celebrations.

Parents should be prepared for the mess factor. Children will get slime on their hands and likely their clothes, despite staff reminders to keep slime over the tables. Bringing old clothes or a change of clothes is strongly recommended. The venue provides containers for taking custom-made slime home.

Timed tickets are required and should be purchased online at least a week ahead for weekends. The SoHo location puts it close to excellent dining options and makes it easy to combine with a broader downtown New York outing.
