Adventure Playground

Adventure Playground in Huntington Beach is one of the most extraordinary play environments in Southern California — a summer-only program that lets children ages 7–13 build structures with scrap lumber and real tools, paint, dig, zip line over a mud pit, and engage in the kind of free, creative, risky play that is increasingly rare in modern life. Operating out of Huntington Central Park, the playground operates on a simple philosophy: children learn through doing, and doing sometimes means getting covered in mud. The adult staff supervise without micromanaging, giving children genuine autonomy to create, collaborate, and test their limits.
